New Electronic Journals

You can now access the following three journals using your NHS Athens ID.


To access any article from the above journals click on “Sign in” on the right hand side and then on “Sign in via Athens” . Once you’ve signed in, click on the PDF button to access the full text.

If you don’t have an NHS Athens account, you can register for one by clicking here.

New Electronic Journal

As part of the Internurse Collection of Journals, all staff now have electronic access to a new journal.

Journal of Renal Nursing (JRN) is a new bi-monthly multi-disciplinary clinical journal, launched in May 2009, for nurses and other allied healthcare professionals specializing in renal care.

The journal is focused on promoting excellence in clinical practice and will provide up-to-date accessible, practical and visually stimulating information, written by experts and peer-reviewed by leading authorities in the field, to help inform, challenge and support anyone working within or alongside renal units and to facilitate evidence-based practice."

British Journal of Community Nursing - content is available from 1996 Vol. 1 Issue 1 to current

Access to these journals is through your NHS Athens username and password. To acccess any article from the above journals, click on "Athens Sign In" at the top left corner then on "Browse Journals". When you've chosen your journal and found an article that you want, you can either click on the title of the article or click on "View Article" to access the full text.

New Electronic Journals and Resource

The library has subscribed to 5 electronic journals from Sage. The journals are:


Access to these journals is through your NHS Athens username and password. To access any article from the above journals, click on Full Text (PDF) and then click on Login via Athens, then click on Sign in via Athens.

ROYAL MARSDEN HOSPITAL MANUAL OF CLINICAL NURSING PROCEDURES

All users also now have access to Royal Marsden Manual Online. This is the online version of The Royal Marsden Hospital Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures and can be accessed by clicking here. The manual includes over 350 evidence-based clinical procedures related to every aspect of care, from handwashing to cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

New Electronic Resource and Journals


The library is pleased to announce that all staff now have access to the following electronic resource:

Emerald Management First "is an online business and management library which places more management tools at your disposal than any other resource. Designed specifically for managers, Emerald Management First brings you regularly updated articles, case studies, thought leader interviews and more direct to your desktop."

To access it please click here, then click on login in the top left hand corner and then on Athens login and enter your NHS Athens username and password. If you haven't got an NHS Athens username and password please visit the library section on your Intranet and go to Training & Guides section, which will show you how to obtain one. Or click here to register for one.
